The Sanctuary Byron Bay Overview
The Sanctuary Byron Bay is an intensive therapeutic retreat that specialises in the
treatment of alcohol and drug dependence, mood disorders such as anxiety and
depression, chronic pain, general stress and post traumatic stress disorder. We
also provide specialised programmes for eating disorders including anorexia
nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorders, other eating disorders not
otherwise specified including obesity and over-eating.
The cornerstone of The Sanctuary Byron Bay treatment model is a holistic,
integrated and individually tailored programme combining psychotherapy,
bodywork, body alignment, rejuvenating meditation practices and nutrition. You
will enjoy the sole attention of an entire team of practitioners devoted to your
recovery. Your programme will be constantly revised to take into account your
evolving needs.
Throughout your stay, you will be safe and secure in your own private home by
the beach or in the verdant hinterlands of Byron Bay. You can choose the home
environment you prefer, from luxury modern, to homely and comfortable. You
will be nurtured by our 24 hour carers and personal chef and you will enjoy the
tranquility and peace of one of the most beautiful regions in Australia – long
known by indigenous Australians prior to white settlement as a powerful place of
healing.

We offer intensive and transitional programmes, designed specifically for you, taking
into account your:
- personal issues;
- relevant history;
- co-existing psychological difficulties such as depression and anxiety;
- ways of being in and relating to the world; and
- relationship difficulties.
After a thorough assessment, the professionals from each healing modality liaise to
create a specific, detailed and integrated programme tailored specifically to your
unique needs. The treatment team is led by our Clinical Consultant who conducts
the initial assessments and ensures that the treatment focus is coordinated and
responsive. Where family dynamics play a part in recovery, family members are
also invited to participate.
If you wish to have your family nearby while you are undergoing treatment, we can organise for them to be accommodated in a variety of ways including fully catered and activity based luxury holidays.
The Sanctuary is pet friendly and can also accommodate your animal companions upon request.
